Malin Jonsson
Eidolon is very happy to be affiliated with singer/songwriter, Malin Jonsson. Her debut album is now available through Eidolon and her second album, TVÅ SIDOR AV MIG will be released on this label in 2011.
Malin Jonsson is a singer-songwriter from Vansbro in Dalarna. Even though she has had airplay on Swedish radio and had songs on Svensktoppen (the Swedish top-hit list radio show) she is still one of Sweden’s best-kept secrets.
Her first album is a good mix of what can be called “Swedish melancholy” and songs in the American singer-songwriter tradition; a mix of Swedish visor (traditional folk songs), American country and pop. It is a very organic album with a classic, timeless sound featuring acoustic and electric guitars, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer piano, acoustic piano and drums. Malin’s voice has a closeness and intimacy that cuts right to the heart. As a singer-songwriter she is not afraid to show her vulnerable side and you can feel the honesty in her music. One of the highlights is the duet, “Leva Här” with Mikael Rickfors (former member of the Hollies and Grymlings). Malin sings in Swedish but her music speaks in all languages.
