Together again- for the first time; that could also be the title of this album. Dave Albert and Brian Hobbs have been best friends since 7th grade when they met in the band program under Scott C. Callaway. They formed their own jazz group and started performing concerts of original songs when they were 17 and were also roommates at the Berklee College of Music. This first album is a dream come true. You can listen to samples and order the CD at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/alberthobbsbigband. It is also available in Elizabeth City, NC at Page after Page bookstore. European release and digital release June 6, 2012!

This is what people are saying about the ALBERT- HOBBS BIG BAND:

”My father would be thrilled that his legacy is living on through great music such as this”- Cathy Rich, daughter of drummer Buddy Rich.

”Albert-Hobbs Band is terrific! Fine imaginative arrangements, first rate ensemble work and quality soloists all add up to a really enjoyable album. Dave Albert’s strong supportive drumming adds a great deal to the over-all ”good feel” and he plays a killer solo on Juggernaut. The sound quality is absolutely great…these cats are some SERIOUS players.”- Ed Shaugnessy (Tonight Show Band, Doc Severinson Band)

”The band is clean and tight, harmonies are really together and solos are hot and the drums on Juggernaut are fabulous. That’s one monster swingin’ band.”- Butch Miles (Count Basie Orchestra, Butch Miles Jazz Express).

The album features original compositions and arrangements by Brian Hobbs. In addition to Albert on drums and Hobbs on keyboards, the band is made up of some of the top musicians in Sweden including Wojtek Goral, Patrik Skogh, Staffan Findin, Jan Adefelt, Tom Beimel, Mikael Berg Andersson, Andy Pfieler, Mikko Paavola, Christer Jansson, and special guest vocalist, Peter Getz.

We are truly grateful to be able to work with some of the best musicians, mixers, photographers, etc., in Sweden. Everyone did an incredible job and we’d like to sincerely thank you all.
